All of Cindy's Blocks - Journey Bee

The Left block was the original block sent out to the bee pals of QjRR along with a journal. Here are two additional blocks created by the talented women . I know the other bee pals will do just a wonderful job as these two have. I am so grateful for their work that will be a part of my quilt once it comes home. Thank you very much for your additions. I never thought I would create a quilt with this block. Now I know I will be honored to create one from this group.

OJRR- First block made added to the journey

Here is the first block added to 4MonkeyQuilts journey. The quilt is going to be for her youngest son. We had to incorporate the fish fabric into any square block we created. Now the quilt blocks and the journal will be sent to Kansas and then internationally. The background is navy, even though it looks black.

Okay- I have sent out my goodies for the virtual bees.

Today, I mailed my package for QJRR. It's first stop is Kansas then other states and then overseas.  The first block will be made by Kitty Kwilter.  I have seen her flickr page and she does great quilting !!! Yay!Tomorrow I will send out my ModifyTradition Quilt Swap miniquilt. I hope my secret partner likes it. She stated her preferences were triangles, white background , she loves easter egg colors and she loves 30's repro fabrics.  I didn't have 30's repro fabric but I tried to use what I had that would be considered my interpretation of 30's fabric. I will post a photo later. I don't want her to see it if she reads my blog. Well, at least not yet....

Modify Tradition Quilt Swap information for my Secret Partner

Hi Secret Partner. Here are some likes and dislikes that I have. There maybe more coming....
I like bright colors. My current favorites are purples, reds, oranges, yellows and teals. I will often use a bit of black in my quilts. I don't like 30's reproductions or calicos.  When I go into fabric shops, I gravitate toward the brights and wild fabrics. I have not worked with batiks yet. I think they are cool. I love contemporary quilts but have not made one yet. I especially love small contemporary quilt/wallhangings with embellishments like buttons, paint etc... but I have never attempted to make one. I love applique and I have made several quilts with applique. I enjoy stitchery quilts. I do with some embroidery but I am not a big fan of traditional crazy quilts.... I have some asian fabrics  because my daughter is chinese. I like novelty fabrics but am perfectly content without them too.  I don't have a favorite fabric designer. I like the shabby chic look.  I try to make seasonal wallhangings to hang in my home. My wish is to hang the quilt you will be making but I don't need invisible tabs unless  you want to put them on. I am not into perfection just creativity. I enjoy some quilt blogs that have already been mentioned, like Oh Frasson, p.s. i quilt.  I enjoy scrappy quilts, but I have no favorite quilt pattern. Some quilt  designer's I enjoy are meme's quilts; pat sloan, cotton way and thimble blossoms. I like cinderberry stitches. I don't have a preference for a certain quilt pattern, I don't have a preference for a certain size of quilt. Don't go to any extra expense of buying fabric, unless you want to go shopping and I am a good excuse!!!!(Smile) I just want you to enjoy the process.  I hope this helps....

This is the Starter Page in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Quilt Journal

I thought I would be the first one to add to my journal by answering the same questions the other quilters will answer and this journal lands in their hands.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Quilt- Journal for Quilting Journey Round Robin

In this virtual bee- we send out a starter block along with a journal so each quilter can be inspired by the block and write a little about their experience into your journal. This will be in the hands of  21 quilters from around the world.  The following is an inspirational quote on the cover of my journal. It is from the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.

" Maybe Happiness didn't have to be about the Big Sweeping  Circumstances, about having  Everything in your Life in place, maybe it was about Stringing together a bunch of Small Pleasures. Make Those count more than the Bad Stuff".

I hope the quilters will be inspired and enjoy their experience with my block and with my journal.

Now, I am currently active in three virtual quilting bees: 1) Not Your Grandmother's Quilting Bee; 2) Quilting Journey Round Robin; and  3) Modify Tradition Quilt Swap.  To participate in these bees one has to have a flickr account. Prior to joining these virtual quilting circles, I have never visited flickr. Now, I have flickr mailed, photostreamed, added photos onto threads, and created a photo mosaic. Those who know me, know I am not computer literate. So this is a milestone. Yay for my brain! It works, it really works! (smile). Please feel free to take a look at the photostream. Currently, it has quilts I have made in the past. Hopefully, I will post as I participate in these bees.
